The Big ONE with Tiny Prints! {Review + Giveaway!}

Its Day 2 of our The BIG One! First birthday event, and we're celebrating Open Hand's Sweet Pea and Buddy Doo's first birthdays with Tiny Prints!

First birthdays are definitely one of the more cherished birthdays in a person's life, and possible the most important for the parents of the little birthday boy or girl!  Sure, there are those convenient 'fill-in-the-blank' invitations that you can usually find at your local supermarket or party store, but when it comes to the Big One you of course want something special to add to your scrapbooks.  Make your invitations 'wow' your guests with the help of the creative minds at Tiny Prints!

For my review, I was sent their invitations and thank you cards.  Being that its Buddy Doo's first birthday, I've been browsing invitations on pretty much every card company's website for months now.  I fell in love with what's available at Tiny Prints (especially for girls!) and I just knew the Fun Little One: Blaze was perfect for us.  While I enjoyed just browsing them all, there are a ton of different ways to narrow down your search for the perfect invitation.  You can choose how many or little pictures you want on the invitation (we knew we wanted a bunch to show off how much he's changed), color(s), theme, featured picks, photo orientation, card formats, and more!  There's even professional Designer Review available with every order to ensure you deliver your absolute best whether its invitations, thank you cards, announcements, seasonal cards, or even address labels.

Even though I fell in love with the invitation immediately, it took me forever to pick only six pictures to capture his first year.  The personalization feature for adding/removing/selecting pictures was incredibly easy to work with and before I knew it I was bawling my eyes out at how beautiful they turned out (and how quickly my itty bitty baby has turned into a toddler -tear-).  What's really neat is you can customize the back of the card as well!  You can change the background, add pictures, or even add directions to the party or other text if you choose.  We went with rounded edges and signature matte paper, but you can choose square corners and signature semi-glossy, pearl white shimmer, or premium DoubleThick matte for that extra-special look.  I saw the pearl white shimmer on a friend's daughter's invitations and its absolutely beautiful!  As a fellow scrapbooker, I love the feel of quality paper and cardstock.  Upon receiving them you can both see and feel that they were all made with quality materials.  The pictures above don't do the inks justice!  Envelopes are including with each invitation and thank you order; you can even order extras to keep a few spares on hand in case of a mess up while addressing them.  Even better: you can choose a different color such as metallic or red!

(note: the mustache will NOT appear on your thank you cards.  Its simply there to protect the identity of my son.  Where the mustache is you have the option of putting text such as your child's first name, first and middle name, or whole name.)

I'm a huge stationary nut and I always have a stack of thank you cards in my desk.  Being both from a military family and moving away when I attended college, a lot of the gifts we receive for the different birthdays and holidays are from family and friends who weren't able to attend.  Since we can't always thank them in person, I believe thank you cards are wonderfully sentimental.  There's just something about taking the time out of your busy day to actually write to them and thank them for their gift that really makes giving and receiving thank you cards special.  Plus, everyone loves receiving mail!  One of my favorite features of Tiny Prints' website is that upon completion of the invitations it showed us coordinating items we could purchase.  Unfortunately not all invitations have items that coordinate with them completely, but it was nice to be able to choose matching thank you cards, address labels, and gift tags for my purchase immediately without having to search.  I love the simplicity of our thank you cards and how truly versatile they are for any occasion.  The same quality as the invitations can be easily observed in the thank you cards.  Picking just one picture was even harder.... and I can't get over how adorable our little man's full name looks on the bottom of each one!  His smiling face at the top is sure to put a smile on anyone who receives these.  I believe the simple layout of these thank you cards is truly perfect; I can easily see these becoming our 'standard' thank you stationary for our little man....even after the birthday party!
